Little drops of water, make a mighty ocean”

“Little drops of consistency, make a fruitful year

I’m not one of the people that sing the popular “New Year, New Me” song. Neither am I one of the many people who buy a very big sharp scissors to cut off people before entering the new year. Lol! Okay that was a joke!

Happy New Year, TID readers!
It’s frigging 2019!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊🎊

I remember being in my first year in Uni in late 2014 and imagining 2019 as this very far-away-foreign-land because it’s the year of my B.eng graduation. But look where we are now – 2019!

How fast does time fly, really?🤕

A New year always gets me excited in many ways – and somewhat emotional too(I don’t know if this part is weird). Lol!

Before a New Year surfaces, I make sure to Thank God so much for the year about to end, and trust me, I couldn’t possibly thank him quarter enough for all he did in 2018. It was a good year with a lot of lessons, and I’m grateful.

2019 is a blank cheque.
What do you want to fill in it?
What do you choose to fill it with?
What do you desire to cash out at the end of the year?

You don’t have to make the most lofty resolutions, you don’t need to have the most bulky plan, you don’t have to have all the resources you need to launch out at your disposal, you don’t have to have it all figured out initially, you don’t have to see the end from the beginning with your physical eyes, you don’t have to pressure yourself into conforming to the expectations of a new year. No, you don’t have to become someone else because it’s a new year. You only need to be willing to become a better You, consistently – for yourself and for the good of others.

You can take the first step and keep taking other steps – no matter how little. You can believe that it’ll keep getting brighter as the days of 2019 unfold rapidly(because we all know how time flies these days) into weeks and months. You can hold on to the undying flame of the passion burning inside of you. You can choose to live more, love more and give more. You can choose to hope that no matter what you see right now or how it seems, that the year will be the best you’ve ever had.

You can pour new drops, and take new steps.

PS: Nothing is too little as long as it takes you a bit forward to your dreams and goals.

So, for me, there’s no New Me. I’m still the same girl who wakes up and stares into the ceiling for a couple of minutes with a million mental images of how the day will play out; the same girl who behaves like a child this minute and like a wise elderly lady the very next; the same girl who laughs from the depth of her soul; The same girl who’s passionate and working on her many dreams and goals; The same girl who wants to never stop being in love with God. She’s the same; only she’s choosing to consistently pour New drops and take New steps in this New year; unleashing more and refusing less, but willingly becoming the best of her in all areas of her life.

There’s No New Me.
Only a willing Better Me.

So help Me God.

Happy New Year Fam!
May the days of your 2019 be filled with good tidings and New drops that will fill to the brim of greatness.

Cheers to 2019🥂
