🎵So have yourself a Very Merry Christmas, reminding yourself the Reason for the Season….🎵
Merry Christmas Guys!🎄🎄🎄🎄
There are Bells that ring at Christmas, and I don’t know if you hear it, but I do. I always hear it – Loud and clear.
It’s cliché to over a million people, what today stands for. It’s old news and fairytale to another million people what Christmas is all about. But to me, It’s everfresh. It will never be stale, it will never be old news and it will never be a fairytale. It’s real.
Jesus is real, guys, and he’s the REASON for the SEASON. Actually, to me, He’s always the REASON for everyday.
As usual, today, my family(nuclear and some extended because we’re all celebrating together right now) is in a state of ecstacy and we’re anticipating what the day will boil down to. But it’s usually the same way. Sing some carols, Pray and thank God for the Reason we’re celebrating, feel the cold Christmas Harmattan breeze on our skins, hug and wish everyone a Merry Christmas, make some Merry calls and send some text messages, watch and laugh at some Masquerade display, play and light some firecrackers and rockets, begin preparation for the Festive delicacy(the main part).lol!, Eat to your satisfaction, drink and dance, gist and talk, probably go out and have some fun, and the day comes to a close eventually.
So is this what Christmas is about?
Can’t we do this on any other normal day?
There are many bells that ring at Christmas. These bells remind us to remember the REASON behind the Christmas SEASON, and not just the SEASON alone.
There are actually so many bells that ring at Christmas, but I’ll be highlighting only Seven.
💃Long-but-inspiring-post alert !🔔
John 3:16 “says For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”
There’s no greater love than this, guys! Jesus came into the world because God SO LOVED us.
This Christmas bell is reminding us to do the very same. Love God, and Love people. To Love our neighbors as ourselves.
Mark 12:30 “And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” This is the FIRST commandment. And the second, like it, is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Matthew 2:10 “When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great JOY. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh….”
Luke 2:10 “…Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of GREAT JOY which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a SAVIOR, who is CHRIST THE LORD.”
Jesus is the Joy of the whole world. The Joy that came to set us free and the Joy that came to set us apart.
The prophecies of his birth and coming brought great Joy to many. His life on earth brought indescribable Joy to many, and his death and resurrection brought even the greatest Joy. I for one, have that Joy.
Have you ever heard the song, “This Joy that I have, the world didn’t give it, so the world can’t take it away?”..
That’s the kind of Joy that Jesus gives. Joy that’s completely independent of how you feel, what you have, and where you.
John 17:13 “But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My JOY fulfilled in themselves. I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world..”
Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
James 1:2 “My brethren, count it all JOY when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience….”
As this Christmas Bell rings, I hope it reminds you that nothing else can give Joy if it’s not In Christ, and I hope it gives you lasting Joy.
🎵Joy to the world….The Lord is Come…🎵
Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, PRINCE OF PEACE. Of the increase of His government and PEACE There will be no end…..”
The Child described in this scripture is Jesus! The prophet Isaiah talked about the Messiah Jesus many many years before he even came into the world. Jesus is the PRINCE OF PEACE. What this means is that he is the one who defines Peace, holds the key to it and gives it out. Alot of people don’t have peace today because the devil has stolen their Peace. We don’t know how beautiful Peace is until we need and crave it. Turn to the Prince of Peace and ask him to give you peace as you listen to this Christmas bell ring.
Also, Psalms 34:14 says “Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.” Be a Peace Ambassador.
Sin is one thing that’ll always ensnare us as humans. It just can’t seem to get away no matter what we try or do, right? But guess what? There are two kinds of people;
1. Those who don’t know what to do about Sin so they’re tired and have become enslaved by it.
2. Those who have found out and accepted the Truth about the remedy for Sin(the blood of Jesus) and have been delivered from it’s shackles.
I’m graced to be among the second category! And I hope you are too!
Acts 5:30 “The God of our Father’s raised up Jesus whom you crucified by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and FORGIVENESS of sins.”
Colossians 1:13 “He has DELIVERED us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the FORGIVENESS of sins”
Because I believe in Jesus, I’ve been Forgiven. Because I believe he was born, died and resurrected for my sins, I’ve been forgiven by the cleansing power in his perfect blood.
So, Sin might come, but His blood speaks for me!
1 John1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we CONFESS our sins, He is faithful and just to FORGIVE us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us…”
As this Christmas bell rings, ask yourself what state you are in. Are you in need of forgiveness? Remember that God is always, always ready to listen and give out Mercy. All you need to do is ASK.
Someone once asked a dear pastor’s wife what the true test of love is, in this form: “How can I know the woman I love the most from all the other women in my life?”, And the Pastor’s wife answered him saying, “The woman you can give freely to the most and feel like you gave to yourself, is the woman you love the most”.
The true test of love is in Giving. It doesn’t have to be material. It could be yourself, your time, your care, your trust, your resources, etc. God proved his love so great for us by giving us his only begotten son. Just pause for a moment to think about this. There’s no love if there’s no freewill giving.
John 3:16 “says For God so LOVED the world THAT HE GAVE(evidence of His love) His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”
The reason God gave Jesus to us was because his love for us was too much, he couldn’t watch us perish.
This Christmas bell is ringing a message of what love really signifies to our hearts. As it rings, remember it’s the Season of Love, and that means the Season to give freely!
Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have REDEMPTION through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace…”
Romans 3:21 “But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being JUSTIFIED FREELY BY HIS GRACE through the REDEMPTION that is in CHRIST JESUS, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus..”
This scripture is so beautiful because in it we can see that no one is excluded from being without Sin. Also, it tells us how much God wanted to deliver us from Sin by giving us the only way out of Sin – the perfect blood of his Sinless son, Jesus.
The blood of Jesus is the ONLY Redemption from Sin. That’s when we can have Boldness to come before his throne of Grace and receive help in time of need.
As this Christmas bell rings, I hope it brings you closer to God’s Love and Grace.
1 Corinthians 1:9: “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord…”
To have FELLOWSHIP is to have RELATIONSHIP and vice versa. Because of Jesus’s birth, death and resurrection from the dead, we have been brought into fellowship with God the Father. That’s the greatest Privilege you can ever think of. There’s no longer need for sacrifices of bulls and animals, there’s no longer separation in communication and etc. Now, there’s free access to God through Jesus.
1 John 1: 5 “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have FELLOWSHIP with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have FELLOWSHIP with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin”.
To have a Genuine Relationship with someone means many things of which faithfulness and loyalty are paramount. Through the privilege to be in a Father-child relationship with God, we ought to walk in the light of his Word – his ways, and not the ways of his enemy – the devil.
Also, we get to have Fellowship with other people who have this same privilege to be in a Father-child, Saviour-Servant relationship with God. These people are called brethren and they are extremely loved by God. Fellowship with them is one of the most beautiful things on earth.
As this Christmas bell rings, I really hope it ignites the desire for genuine friendship & fellowship with God and with his beloved – our brethren.
So, I’m challenging everyone reading this on this very special day. Despite all the celebration, take out a few minutes to talk to God, sincerely. Thank him for showing the greatest act of love ever made – The Love sacrifice, Jesus.
